Planning a trip to Destin this fall? Be sure to check out the 2016 Destin Seafood Festival, September 30 - October 2. The 38th Annual Festival will begin on Friday, September 30 (4:00pm-10:00pm) and continue on Saturday, October 1 (10:00am-10:00pm) and continue through Sunday, October 2 (11:00am-4:00pm).
The festival takes place along the scenic Destin Harbor Boardwalk and is sure to impress the whole family with live music, endless food, crafts, and children’s activities. Best of all, there is no admission charge. Our team member, Missy Windes Flinchum, has grown up attending the Destin Seafood Festival and shares these insider tips to experience the Destin Seafood Festival like a local:
The Destin City Stage, centrally located near Brotula’s Seafood House & Steamer, will be featuring the best local musicians on the beach. Come Friday and Saturday night ready to dance.
The “BRT” is a local food truck serving fresh, locally caught seafood. The BRT will be parked at the festival each day. It’s big and red, you can’t miss it, and you won’t want to!
This fish throwing contest will be held on Sunday from 11:30 a.m.to 1:00 p.m. This is a free event, which takes place on the top of the hill at the Royal Melvin Heritage Park, behind the Destin City stage. This event is for children up to 12 years old and awards will be given in all age categories. Your kids will love it.
